Is it 2006 or 2007 passat? I have a 2004 Passat. It is really nice one to drive...

on your car, i would put it under your dash roof between the tach and speedo.

The v1 w/o a doubt should just go right under the mirror...i know of a store where u can get really nice RVM mounts, where it just connects to the RVM and hangs down..no suction cups or anything

with the remote display it gets trickier..i think the best place is in the dashboard between the speedo and tachometer above the navigation screen

^ I like richardboy316's/Audi Quattro's suggestions of concealed display placement. Right under the apex of the instrument binnacle hood, between the speedo and tach, above the CAN-vehicle display.

My only concern would be to make sure that your seating height/angle, personal height, as well as steering wheel angle/rake will not interefere with visibility of the concealed display. I'd suggest that you temporarily affix the display in-place and drive around for a week or so in order to get a full feel for how this placement suits you, before you make anything "permanent." Often, a few hours drive or just sitting in the car with it off won't return with a "true-to-life" response in this manner, so some patience on your part would definitely be worth it, IMveryHO.

Also, as a side note, there was a post here not long ago that your fellow Audi/VW fanatics have hacked the CAN-vehicle display, at least on a couple of Audi models. Any idea if this can cross-apply to your VW?

What are those spacers to the left and right of the hazard flasher button? Are they cupholders? If you sacrificed one you could mount the concealed display in there.

In my '02 Audi A4 I pulled out the (useless) credit card tray and put my concealed display in its place.

yeah its a random holder, cant put coins coz they might fall out and go into the dash

i dont really want to mess with those, if i can get the concealed display to pop out when i open it that would be amazing

Is the shop in Chicago? My suction cups keep falling off and I was going to use some denture cream to hold them on (I heard it works don’t at me)
