that always cracks me up, (I called V1), (V1 told me on the phone) and so on..
Its VR, not V1
And about the ebay thing Radarkid, ebay is infested with broken, stolen crap that people unload every day.
I even seen people on these forums telling others, if it dont work dump it on ebay and by a new one...
If I were you, I'd get my money back and spend the extra money for a new one with the 30 day drive test.
Just to respond to your earlier inquiry about repair and cost. As I said earlier, I sent mine in, the unit had a bad board and was way out of calibration. They repaired the damaged board and recalibrated it under the $45 fee. So no, the $45 is NOT JUST for looking at it, it is in fact ALSO for a great deal of thier repairs as well. Time is money, my bet is they have a set of things that are relatively quick fixes that dont require a whole lot of time for a tech to take care of and will do them all under the $45 fee.
My wife ended up e mailing our seller as well to see what he has to say. I went back and read the description and he stated it works perfectly, and that it had euro mode, but according to a post in one of the stickies, this revision is pre euro mode, so he lied there, and it didnt work so he lied there. We called him on it and we'll see what he says.
Too funny. I just PM'd you asking this question.
Thanks for getting back to me. I thought the $45 covered some repair/tunings as stated. Thanks for reassuring me. If its $45, then I ended up spending about $285 for it. Not a bad deal. Let alone if I can get the seller to cover the $45. If he won't cover the $45 I'm going to send it back to him and take it up through PayPal
Response received from the seller:
It worked perfectly when it left here, and if it's broken I'm not happy about it. If you had it on "L" mode, that's the V1's logic mode which it uses to rule out false positives. If you put it on "A" mode it will detect all signals. If you put it on A mode and don't see your false positives then just send it back and I'll refund you, but I'm not happy about this. I had a feeling something like this would happen based on all your questions.
Basically he's implying in this message and another sent via eBay that I did something to cause this problem based on the fact that I asked several questions about the detector ahead of time. Unbelievable.
OK. So he's refunding the money. Guess I'll be ordering a refurb direct from Valentine
