    Default Clarify this for me

I know when you want to program K band muting you can choose the seconds etc.

My question is this for settings E (Unmute at 4 lights) and F (unmute at 6 lights) do you have to choose one or the other or choose both?

the wording is a little confusing. option E controls muting at the onset of the encounter. option F controls muting after the initial signal is picked up. If E and F are up, any signal that starts out at less than 4 lights will be muted until it gradually climbs to 6 lights, at which point it will unmute. If E is up and F is down, the same signal would remain muted all the way to full strength. However, if the initial reception of the signal was 4 lights or greater, it would be full volume. If E and F are both down, there will be no mute override of any k band signal until the mute time defined by b,c and d has elapsed.

    Thanks.
After reading it again, basically if both are down, it will mute until say 30 seconds are up (of course if you select 30).

Yes that's right, both down means no override until the time is up. Could be pretty dangerous especially in Big L.

Good just for certain spots like shopping centers, and one traffic light I hit that I get like 3 k bogeys and an x.

i just learned in another thread that if you double-tap the mute button instead of one press, it also mutes the additional bogey-lock tones...great for driving through shopping centers!

F arrow down will automute 8 lights as well but the signal must come on gradually.
When using E & F together in big L mode K band is basically dead or turned off for the time limit.
E & F together is not in the programming instructions but I have nick named it "all surge" mode.

I know, i said that in my earlier post. E up , F down should be muted all the way to 8 if the signal started at less than 4, and be unmuted if it started at 4 or greater based on the E setting, in that case F wouldn't come into play.

I have to say, i really don't get the usefulness of Big L, might as well just run little L with the mute vol down, at least that way you still get the visuals.

But then you would have to adjust the mute lever for the other settings, Big L gives you the next step of quietness. I will say 30 in a shopping center goes by quick lol.

Now if Valentine would just have X band muting.
