    Default ...sold my 3.872 V1

the radar detector was fun! put it on ebay + concealed display, and got $420.. don't know how that happened but i'm sure not complaining.

i realized that even with my laser jammer, and V1.. i'll never be able to "truly" speed. EVEN with rabbits.

instant on just scares me way to much. it isn't worth it to go 20 mph over the limit to save 10 minutes and have to pay fines + points.. so i sold my blinder m45 as well. i also constantly worried about someone breaking into my car and stealing the v1 (yes you can remove it, but that was a hassle every time i get in/out my car)

the RD scene was fun . if i ever come back i hope to get the 9500ci and i hope the shifters are better then the zr4s they have now..

Well it was nice having you. A rabbit doesn't help?

I'm sorry that you feel your countermeasures don't give you enough protection. One thing about the RD business is that you can't be afraid of getting tickets because eventually you will get one. LEOs always have the advantage. I personally think you shouldn't be so afraid of QT and I/O. Having a good RD is just part of a sure defense against I/O and QT. You also have to have a rabbit. I encourage you not to give up yet.

One day you will regret it .

If one thing I learned is that even when you are doign the speed limit you need a good detector and laser jammer , as even when you are doing PSL cops find places to hide were the speed drops and the speed sign is hard to see.

Which is the reason detectors exist in the first place .

Going 10mph over PSL is enough to stop you and fine you and give you points and it is very easy to go over PSL by 10 mph , without protection you will be hit when you least paying attention .

But I guess you have plenty of money now to pay for the fines if anything :P

    Good luck.

    thanks guys.

i don't knock ANY of you for having what you have. whether it be a cobra (okay.. i will make fun of you), but really, from a whistler to a v1 + 9500ci or WHATEVER, VEIL, dual LI, m47.. it doesn't matter. i understand why you have it. it makes sense.

it just isn't for me. i'm getting tired of weeding out false alerts, getting real alerts and spotting where the LEO is.. it just isnt' for me anymore. it was fun "spotting" the LEO's at first, but now it seems like a chore and I just want to drive/enjoy my car without having to worry, so i won't speed anymore..

although, i will tell the story of my favorite save with my V1..

driving around with a friend, we both have fairly fast cars.. it was night out (about 1130pm) we were at a light and we decided to hit it.. it was a good race. we decided to go again and weren't paying attention.. right before the light turns i hear the v1 go off with a forward arrow.. i yell at my friend don't go and motion my hand across my neck like it's being cut.. (aka, stop!! no)..

there was a leo that just pulled up a little bit ahead at the other light.. we didn't notice since we were paying attention to each other.. i will never forget that night.. we both can get up to 100 pretty ****ing fast so we both would have been goners for sure..!

P.S the key to selling on eBay, be 100% honest, take LOTS of pictures, and look at the "completed listings".. you can sort from highest -> lowest, i usually copy the highest persons listing, after all, it sold for a lot for a reason. i include my own pictures and have had great success with this method. really, i don't see why this person didn't purchase it from v1 for 440 + shipping.. just to save $20 is pretty stupid IMO.. but i'm not cmoplaining like i siad before...

I think that might have been unwise to sell all your countermeasure equip IMO, you already said you have a fast car and it sounds to me racing might/is in our blood, so speeding is not something so easy to just turn off and tell your self that you are going to start doing the PSL.

It's your choice but I think you had a top-notch detector & a semi-good jammer, I would say put a lot of thought in your decision before you sell your stuff next time.

    To each their own.

It's interesting to me that you describe driving with a RD as a chore.....

I really didn't get mine as a tool to use in an urban environment to get away with speeding. I have mine because it's impossible to always catch the changing limits on a trip. And, it gives me something to do. It's a game between me and the cops.

I used to work in law enforcement and I learned that it is very easy to catch a speeder. Even with the most basic K band hand held it didn't matter if someone had a RD or not. If a cop is doing his job right, a RD really won't help you at all. But cops are lazy, and the V1 helps me find those guys.

The most important thing I learned is that speed is not always the only reason folks get pulled over. I learned to fit a profile and drive within certain parameters and I have not had a ticket in 10 years. (I just jinxed myself.) Now I must say that I do not drive the speed limit, not even close. So I have a RD and the laser hammer just in case my observation skills slip and a sneaky cop nabs me at an inopportune moment. To me that is not a chore, it's insurance. And the reason I have a V1 is that they are kind of old school. At it's core catching speeders still is too......They hide from me and I find them. I need the most sensitive tool to do that.

Best of luck to you. Slowing down is not a bad thing, it just isn't that fun. And THAT is not for me.

This is why I run countermeasures in my work vehicle.
