J'd out a NY State Trooper last night

So I'm driving on I-90 and my V1 alerts to Ka. I slow down, and around the bend, there's a trooper using C/O Ka. Definite save!

What I found to be weird is that once I passed him and the arrows switched to Side, it J'd out the alert! At least I got the save.

There has been posts about this, I started one a while back, but too lazy to go find it.

This can happen, but as long as you passed the threat and then the J out occured you are fine.

Certainly an issue with V1's...

I always reset mine, and take every Ka-threat (even a J-out) as real unless otherwise proven.


Whats odd is when it happens my V1 normally only J-outs (from my experiences) a Ka-threat on extremely faint signals. Meaning when I reset the unit it will pick it up at 3-4bars and carry on through. So generally only alerts less then 3 ever get J'd out, but its not unheard of for it to J-out strong signals either... just less often.

OP: what's the software version of your V1?

It can happen if the V1 sees real Ka and a Cobra at the same time. In some instances it can mis-associate the real Ka with the Cobra harmonics and junk the bogey out.

This is fairly rare though.

My Js are very seldom, most verified with a sighting. I've never seen a COP shortly after a J-out, altho conforming a negative is always a challenge. Power-cycling after a J has revealed nothing.
