Why am I getting "P" on start up with not having made any changes from mfg settings?

I've noticed it, but never paid much attention to the "P" I get when I turn the unit on until reading this from the V site:
"If the unit has been changed, P will appear briefly in the Bogey Counter soon after V1 is switched on (after the lamps-on test, but before the Mode indicator appears.) "

I've not made any changes at all to the programing. (ver 3.872, sn 014)

I bought it directly from V and have just emailed them.

Any ideas?

I thought I had a problem with P indication but on our version ,it is telling you that POP is on . It is spelling P O P

Mine shows P then O then P for POP.

Is that what you are seeing? I turned my KA guard of this weekend and in addition to showing P-O-P it has an additional "P" that flashes. All the band(K,KA,Laser,X) led's flash at the same time the "P" flashes to show I have changed the programming. Hope that helps

Sorry for asking what may have appeared to be an inane question that IS NOT addressed in the owner's manual, which I did read.

I'm still learnin' how to do effective searches thru the archives, but in the mean time I can only offer my appologies and ask your patience and understanding.
