I would pick one over the other based on which detector had the best combination of feathers and characteristics that suited my needs the best.

A couple of things here mate... we don't double post threads... choose one section of the forum and post your thread, do not put it in 2,3 + places.

2nd... do some research... using the search function you can find the answers to your questions.

    Sure

When I chose my detector. I read many threads, watched many videos, looked up professional reviews, for each detector I was interested in. Then I thought about where I would mainly drive, and based my decision on which detector would work best for me.

It's simple. It depends on what aspects you prioritize over others.

The V1 obviously has arrows and a long-proven performance edge over all but a few recent detectors, two of which are remote-mounted units. It's also got proven superiority when it comes to quick-trigger (not instant-on; different things) detection. QT is a debated "risk" depending on whether your local law enforcement uses it.

The Redline is for raw performance (perhaps better than the V1, but that's something that I've not seen well proven in terms of reliable third-party tests or lab measurements), fantastic off-axis detection, but not nearly as sound quick-trigger detection. It is not GPS capable but has some of the features which the V1 lacks.

The 9500ix is GPS capable, has the same aforementioned features (like frequency display and the like), but is arguably edged out just a bit in raw performance by both the V1 and the Redline.

It's just a matter of what you want -- and what you're willing to sacrifice. Choose your poison, and ignore the fanboyism you're bound to get here by people supporting their own chosen unit. The V1, 9500ix, and Redline will all do their job well. The same argument could be made for the "lesser," but still fairly capable, units like the 8500 x50, RX 65, and the like.

(Edited to add: hey, you "chill out." Don't be a jerk. I'm all for answering questions -- clearly, since I didn't edit out what I said -- but don't get huffy for someone suggesting you read around just a little bit while not obnoxiously cross-posting something that belongs in one general forum.)

    Hey Alex two things:

    1)NO...
    2)THANKS...

Just trying to help you out pal, I was not ruffled under my feathers at all... if you feel double posting your topics in various sections of the forum is needed, you will find out very quickly why moderators are needed... to close all your extra threads (and that would happen).

Secondly searching the forum and reading all the stickies would be a big benefit to you...

You might as well be asking us to tell you why you should pick between snuggle, downy, and ultra downy for your next load of laundry. Determine your needs, read the plethora of information here on this site regarding each of the detectors, make an informed decision.

Not saying asking for others opinions on what you should get is a bad thing, but your going to need to first determine what it is you want out of your detector, and then pinpoint which detector is the best choice for you.
