My 3.789 version Ohio Question

My current firmware is 3.789 and version 1.8

90% of my driving is in Ohio highways. As most of you know, Ohio was installed quite a few of the K-band drone speed sensors on our major freeway's. My V-1 does not go off for those drones (kind of a good thing). If i send back for repair (my LED's are dim now), and get an update I assume it will THEN start making extra noise i don't need. Otherwise my V-1 works fine and have not had any issues whatsoever. What version is required to start having the K-band drones irritate me while driving ? I know the latest is 3.872 or something like that.

Unless you have K-band off or K-band muting programmed it doesn't sound like you have K-band detection right now. OSP uses K-band and X-band so having K-band is a must.

What's nice about the V1 us it's customizable so there is no lose of sensitivity like other RD and you still have the arrows. You can adjust K-band speed sensor muting to any volume as I have mine muted to just below threshold where distant signal is usually not heard but full drone radar is very low I can just hear it. This is great as when there is instant-on it goes to high volume like without muting.

I have never played with the setting's whatsoever. I know you can go into programming mode, but I have not done that. I still do get plenty of K-band radar pickup's either from CVS's or the local LEO's. So I know its' not turned off by accident. To be safe I will just mail it back and see what the experts have to say at V-1 headquarters. I was just afraid that it will come back extra chatty and now its not.

Do you Big "L" mode?

no, i normally use A mode or Little L in city. In highway driving, almost always A mode.

If it does not go off on them, you have gotten really lucky, have a broke V1, or something in that software version accidently fixes this issue. Chances of that lol?

Due to a recent funeral, i just drove about 900 miles thru Ohio and PA without any problems whatsoever on K-band. So K-band must be working, but maybe not good enough to pickup the K band drone frequency.

Speed sensors are only near large cities in Ohio or about 4-5 metropolitan areas here. Doesn't sound like you got off the turnpike.

agreed, but my wording was not the greatest. My drive included I-480, I-271 in Ohio and I-80 in PA with other K-band warnings that were in plenty of time, so it wasn't like my K-band detection was too short or not working at all. My normal K-band junk signals (walgreen's, CVS) still work like normal in Big A mode.

Doesn't matter anyway, the unit went back to "repair" . K-band did work fine, but just not in front of those sensors.
