The FIlter modes do not filter POP, they only filter standard alerts as if you have POP ON, the POP features must still be present.

If you are receiving false "POP" alerts, you would need to shut the POP feature OFF.

Mike B.: I don't get many false POP alerts but I get a lot of PULSE alerts. I see no LEO around so I would guess they are false.

Can you please elaborate on POP and PULSE including sources both real and false? What is the difference in POP and PULSE?

POP is a signal that is very very brief and then gone

PULSE is a signal that is very strong upon the initial scan of the band in question.

PULSE can be caused buy triggered operation of a radar at close range
PULSE can be caused by another radar detector in close proximity and that all of a sudden is seen by your unit at a very strong signal.

Why does pulse go away when pop is turned off?

When POP is off, the PULSE algorithm would have increased the amount of false PULSE alerts to certain radar detectors.

Hrmm, but couldn't you just make a pulse on/off as well

Chose not to because of the significant quantity of the offending brand causing the false PULSE alerts.

Many customers do not read the manuals or check in with forums and a high number of false PULSE alerts may have led to returns.
