    Default 34.0 Hmmmm....

I was on my way to the store earlier and the police were setting up road blocks for the fireworks tonight. My XTR-695 was alerting 34.0...have only seen this happen with Cobra's. I thought the RSID may have been misreading the frequency but it alerted to 34.0 again on the way home. I put the 78SE in my car and drove back to the road blocks...same thing.

The locals normally run 34.7 so I am wondering if the radar gun was out of tune? There were 4 separate police cars...is it possible that they all, (or a couple of them), had their radar on and confused the Whistlers? I definitely will not be ignoring 34.0 alerts in the future!

Yeah...and my Belscort is out on loan until next week. It would have been useful tonight and possibly cleared a few things up. I still say there were multiple radar guns running as I can't imagine a unit being that far out of tune. It was a four way intersection with a local on each corner.

Well, they also use 35.5 here but it's not as prevalent. I may wait until traffic lightens up and take another trip down the road to see what in the @!$# is going on.

Two locals remain...both on same side of street\intersection...RSID now displays 35.5.

I am not s sure what to think. Is it a harmonics issue? Do the Whistlers have difficulties differentiating frequencies between multiple radar sources?

I do know that I normally ignore KA9 falses and 34.0 signals but I am, (now), not sure if that's the correct thing to do. I have definitely observed a 34.0 RSID as a verifiable radar source\threat.

Aaaargh....I may have to relearn everything I thought I knew...

Maybe your locals got a new Ka 35.5 radar unit.

Seriously? Can't we have an open discussion on this board?
