I got at XTR 695SE RD what would be better to put on under laser setup. "Normal " or "LSID"?

The performance is the same in both modes.
The RSID provides you with information that you can use to educate yourself to the Laser used in your area.
It can also help you to identify areas of laser falses and allows you to store the PPS rate of those falses so that future alerts of the same/similar PPS will alter the audible alert.
Thax Michael B. Cause i was driving yestaday i see a cop using a gun shooting at car after going up hill. My RD didn't alert me or anything.. so i was wondering did i setup wrong or it just didtn't catch it on my RD.. "just bought the RD couple days ago".
laser is tough to detect unless it is pointed in your direction and even then it is difficult if not impossible to detect at close distances as the beam is very narrow.
You have a much better chance at distances of greater than 1000ft but it must still be pointed in your direction.
If pointed at another car, there is no chance unless a lucky reflection is perfectly redirected at you.
oh ic thanx for the input.. one last question. Where would you recommanded to put the radar in the car. I have it on my dashboard right side closer to the wheel?
Mount it high above the rearview mirror and hardwire it into the car. Just so you know, laser detection is about useless and you will not be saved a laser ticket by your detector. The only thing that can save you from laser is a laser jammer.
would mounting low on the windshield reduce the chance of picking up laser scatter from cars being hit by laser ahead of you?
Welcome. Good RD. I have one and I am very pleased with it. I even like the display.
You received some good advice on here.
Personally, I mount mine over the RVM. Gets better detects there at longer ranges, the display is easier to read, it is out of the sunlight and kind of out of sight to others outside the vehicle. I encounter so little laser that I have mine set on LSID so I can learn.
