    Mmm Sounds nice...

Also, how long does it usually take a LIDAR to get a speed reading off of a small sedan with no front license plate and not silver or white?

Yea, I did see that Video of the LI firing when I saw it through the camera. I thought that was an infrared camera? Aren't police cars equipped with IR cameras? What are those car cams that you see on shows like Cops?

They don't show very bright on the video for reasons I can't explain.
Yes but alot of the videos people have night shot turned on on their camera.

I do have a video of IR light on my cheapo Flip video camera but honestly the headlights on a car are far brighter than any jammer and will make the IR from the jammer next to impossible

I speak from experience and countless jams at night don't worry about it

Police camera's aren't equiped with IR cameras and the rare shot they are. The jammers only fire when they are being shot at.

When a cop is firing a laser gun they need to look through the HUD of the gun so they will not see the IR cause they can't look through the HUD and fire and look at a camera

DO NOT WORRY ABOUT TRANSMITTING IR.

    Damn that gun detects fast.

Seems like they would be suspicious if they couldn't get a reading within 5 seconds.

you only need around 8 sec max to slow down...

I have to stick with the theory that five seconds is too long for an auto-timed jamming sequence. It takes only a second to lose 10 mph. And with the average encounter distance at around 500 feet, give or take 200, you'll be in the LEOs face -- or past him -- before that thing times out. This is just not a process that I believe should be left to automation, except as a back-up fail-safe measure for when you pull a Riverwabbit.

5seconds was always the perfrect amount of time for me with my Lidatek's

Thats all I ever needed to slow down. some times i even turned them off before the 5seconds was done

Man, I don't know. The last laser encounter I had, it took me 6 seconds to turn both of my jammers off, because I fumbled a little with the 9500ci's buttons and that seemed like an eternity.

Yeah, it's definitely a good redundancy factor, as I said, to ensure you don't pull a Riverwabbit. I consider myself pretty well versed in what to do when the alarm goes off, but even I froze up one night and didn't get it killed til I was already passing the officer. I just don't want people routinely leaving it to the timer and not even trying to kill it, because 5 seconds can be way too long on a lot of encounters.

I'm thinking the timer would only serve as a backup in case I pulled a riverrabbit. I think 5 seconds is an eternity to slow down to PSL.
