    Default Voltmeter on 995

I love my 995! I really like the voltmeter also because it just looks cool. But I have been wondering if the sensitivity or circuitry is affected in this mode....Sometimes when it changes rapidly by .1 volts I feel like the RD is overworked. Anyone have an opinion on running the RD in this fashion?

The RD is still working the same no matter what... the voltage changes because the load on the electrical system changes, and it will irrespective of what the RD is doing since the RD is fairly negligible consumer.

Are you worried about the display, and how it changes so frequently? That involves no moving parts, and it is all digital. That changing decimal deal don't have any effect. Think about clocks, and how they are changing all the time, yet they still last for a long long time. Same type thing. LEDs can flash for a while and be fine.

I wouldn't worry about it at all, though it does kind of get one's attention when something changes constantly.

I agree with both of the above...

As SAS stated its perfectly normally that the voltage on the display changes, because yours cars electrical system voltage is always changing... or should I say often. (As long as it isnt giving any Low/High volt signals... your ok.

that's what I was needing! Thanks guys! I was mainly worried that the constant monitoring of the battery voltage might detract from the scanning of frequencies. I guess it won't.....

    Thanks for the answers!

It won't because it's always monitoring your voltage even if it’s not being displayed.

    Default testing

I was test driving a car a while back, and took my X50 w/ me to use the voltmeter in it to check the voltage. Good thing for that voltmeter because the battery in this car sucked. Thx X50!!!

If I remember correctly you can't just blame it on the battery. It could be many things, but mainly

    Junk Alternator
    Crappy Wiring
    and possibly croaking battery.
