    Default Wiring Question

I just used an "Invisicord" to wire my Bel STi to my mirror.

When I checked the power coming from the mirror, it said 6v was coming out but I think the Bel STi requires 12v.

That being said, the STi seems to be working fine.

Is 6v ok? Or am I getting less performance by having a 6v power source.

    Thanks,
    KJ

I would think you would only have 12v at the mirror. What kind of car do you have and what pins are you using on the mirror connection?

    It's a 2008 Infiniti EX35.

I was thinking that the mirror had to be 12v, but to my suprise, the voltmeter was displaying 6v!

From my understanding, the STi would give me an error message if the voltage was too low, so maybe the reading on the voltmeter was wrong?

This is off a 2008 G37 and it should be on brown and black according to this. Is that what you used?

If you set the display to show vehicle voltage does it display 6v or 12v?

It says 12v on the STi so all is fine.

I guess my friend had his Voltmeter setup wrong or when we were plugging in the leads, it wasn't in all the way in or something.

    Thanks for the help though!

If it was an analog meter he could have had it set on the wrong scale, if it was a digital meter it was probably not making a good connection with ground. Glad it's ok. I really like the invisicords, have them in the Vette and the Caddy.

    Funny coincidence.

My friend who brought over his voltmeter also drives a Vette.

    A 2008 Z06!
