Default Re: RX45 with shifters installed

Thanks for the info... I realize there are better shifters out there but I rarely speed and pretty much just use the alerts to *check* my speed when hit.... It's not hard to easily get a few over the limit if you are not staring at the speedometer....

I had a V1 but sold it because I wanted a remote system that did not need to be in the windshield, on the visor, or on the dash... Then, since I decided to go remote, I figured I'd add the shifters as in my way of thinking, some laser shifting protection is better than what I had before, which was none with the V1...

Again thanks for all the help... I will work with the toe issue tomorrow and will post images after I think I have them straightened out...

I tried locating the display in several different areas and ended up liking that position the best.. It's easy for me to reach and operate from there... I was not really going for stealth, I just didn't want a detector hanging from my windshield, visor, or dash...

    Thanks for the input!

Thanks in advance.... Is this better for the toe in/out of the shifters... They are straight best I can tell...

I would of bought a V1 and LI.. that front end is huge.. i'm not sure how well you'll be protected. ambush shots you're toast.

I don't know the performance of the RX radar detector.. but the jammers are just ZR3? or maybe ZR4? I'd shell out the extra bucks for full protection of the LI. that's a nice car though.

Thanks.. I had a V1 and thought about keeping it and adding either the LI or Blinder shifters to it... I just grew tired of a detector hanging from my windshield or visor or dash and wanted a remote system... That's why I sold the V1 and got the RX45... It has the same range as the 8500x50 (or so I have read) and the shifters are Z4's....

I may end up scrapping the Z4's and go with different shifters later but really like the RX45.... The 9500ci was out of my price range...

I'm not sure how much the STI - R costs now, since they are extremely hard to find, but that would be a great option. Did you hardwire the V1 above your RVM? that puts it out of the way and there are no cables. I strongly suggest getting a LI or Blinder at a later date. LI dual should be enough, you might need a blinder M47 to cover your front. You should try to find someone in your area to test your setup.

I actually did consider a rearview mirror mount for the V1... Yes the front end is massive and to make matters even worse it has quite the angle / slope...

I saw somewhere, a V1 with the LI was like $1100.. Add to that a RVM mount and a remote display for the V1 and I am looking at $1400 or so and would still need to pay for the install..

I got a good deal on the RX45 with shifters (paid $650 total) and sold my V1 for $250...

Glad to see that you took our advice and fixed the install.

+1 on getting Blinders or LI's. LI dual would come out to 540 or so and you could have kept your v1.

Ya, now I am kind of wishing I would have went that route... Oh well, maybe I will start saving my pennies and get another V1 and LI dual plus the RVM mount and the V1 remote display...

It looks Great But having those shifters and you knew there was bettter out Wasn't a good idea to go that way

You will be speeding in that Car It only takes one reading for a ticket and 10 over in that car is a ticket if they really want it

Leo hit sports cars 1st off in a line since they want us

I was going 65 bc I knew he was there cars fly passed me but here comes a Mustang laser alert...

People can say this is scatter who will even really know I don't think it is
