I must say, these are rather interesting results.

And I second what CrazyVolvoRob mentioned above, this is the first test I'm seeing the LI having trouble with the Ultralyte 125 pps.

This test shows that we should be testing our equipment in more real life scenarios. Very few real encounters happen on 2000' long straightaways.

Testing your setup in these different scenarios allows you to find where the weakness in your system may lie.

What we did conclude was that black cars are much easier to stealth out. The few PT's we got on the black cars came as they were transitioning from one grade to another.

It was only on the white and red colors were were able to get longer PT's.

Maybe your LI's need the UL 125pps fix like the LPP needed

Maybe cliff can chime in? 2 cars with LI's and both a problem with UL concerms me.

Is this the same Ultralyte used in the CFL#9?
    What's the modified ZR4?

Alright this is my personal theory on why this has happened:

Watch the video again and watch where the car is directed because of the curvature of the road and the incline/decline. Often times the car has to make a small incremate of a turn and is not neccissarly straight but around 5 degree's off axis unlike all of the past tests where your vehicle is aimed straight down the course, which as you can see the previous tests unlike this one are very real world, or much more real world than previous tests.

I understand that we do off-axis shots all the time and this doesn't make since but I feel that this is deffinatly a possible reason they did so bad. I wasn't their so the people that were their may come up with evidence that makes this totally thrown out or dissimated so chime in. My personal theory

I think that is exactly it, very few spots on this course were the jammer heads pointed directly back towards the shooter. There were several sections on the course where the V1 would not even alert to the lidar!

Look at you all testing in the month of January, I have to admit I'm jealous.

Just from my first glance at the results, the Corvette LI needs to work on the setup. The car is getting almost 1000FT base line runs, a blinder m20 should be able to stealth that car.

I'm curious about the modified ZR4 as well. That crazy Mem-Tek we never know what he's up to.

    Keep on keeping on gentlemen.

Yep, do you see my originial post before the results were even posted or anything was said about the ultralyte and I said "I like it because its very real world and their are no relitively straight areas"

With lidar we usually deal with one of the following, a curve, a decline, or an incline. Uusally something isn't perfect and to know that LI isn't as perfect as we though is very big and something that will get the Laser Interceptor Development team motivated to fix.

Im glad you guys did this as our testing event was going to change this "Perfect scenario" and put it much much more real world. Even with radar, I mean come on we know all about the regular radar stuff as we've tested it so many times, that I was inclined to focus on the stuff *we didn't* know. Major curves, Curves with inclines and declines, Massive 35.5 testing, etc. etc. etc. I gaurantee most people would be suprised very suprised at the distances you will pick up radar around a curve and a major decline. I had the perfect testing ground around my area too, honestly with radar their is no perfect situation I have come to see with testing the limits of your detector. Also I love when GOL tested settings on the detectors and its effects, we know what the RD's will do or at least we have an idea always, we always know who is coming out on top usually.

But when you do real world scenarios you get suprised like all of you guys did here and its quite shocking, but you learn a lot from it and if you know the capabilities are of your countermeasures and the same thing with your car *and* you use this too your advantage you become a much better countermeasure user. This is exactly why I wanted some base runs of 35.5 with detectors of what range you can always expect to get an alert no matter what (except super extreme scenarios as their very uncommon) as if I know the distance the STI will alert no matter what in any scenario of I/O with it being around a curve or whatever then I will use that to my knowledge and drive accordingly. Its the same thing with knowing the limits of your car, if you understand and drive to within your limits of your car you shouldn't have any problems but if you don't know this knowledge you will put yourself at risk all the time.

Yes, it is the very same gun.

This type of course is exactly what I had in mind a few months ago when I recommended that we start testing some more real-life conditions and scenarios, as opposed to the standard straight-away shots. We certainly need not abandon straight shots, as they serve as an important baseline from which to extrapolate. But once you have that baseline, then curves, inclines, and declines are perfect for finding out what your vulnerabilities are. We need to study the numbers from this event very, very carefully and determine where most of the PTs were occurring. Uphill? Downhill? Curves? Knowing the commonalities of the vulnerabilities will help us fix them.

Don't be jealous of January testing. We froze our arses off for most of the day! As we left the site, it actually began to snow.

Also of note, even way out on an unmapped road, we still managed to get jacked up by law enforcement, lol. A sheriff's deputy came by just as we were packing up to see what we were up to. He was cool once he realised we weren't racing or tearing the place up.
