X50 vs. V1... Decisions, Decisions.

I am in the market for a new detector. I have been hanging around a bit on the V1 page. Now I thought I'd give the Belscorts folks a ping. Why should I buy an x50 over the V1. I would use it for highway, mainly in NJ/PA/DE.

One thing that pops out (hehe) is that the X50 has POP detection, but it has to be selected/activated. Is that right? What good is that? The V1 is automatic, right?

Besides this, why should I buy the X50. In what areas does it beat the V1? (ignoring cost).

I have a X50 now, and i was thinking of getting the V1 cause my X50 needs to be fixed, but i looked at how much the V1 costs and i simply can't afford another detector.

So i am sticking with the X50. The only reason i considered the V1 is because of the laser detection.

I been getting nailed with laser a lot, and my X50 is pretty poor to detect it.

Get the V1, once you have the arrows you will be forever wondering how you had life without them. AIR got a bad V1. Not to mention the V1 is always upgradable, the escort is only software upgradeable.

The X50 cannot compete with the V1s detection performance, in any band or mode. The V1 has X band, K band and Laser performance that leads the industry, the STi is its only contender. As long as you can by happy with a 1970s era user interface then always get a V1.
If you want near intuitive user programming of features, instant understanding of alerts, good practical on the road performance, basically a user interface that even a NON geek can use, then you're far better off with an X50 or even a Bel RX65.

You are WAY OFF... I suggest you look at some recent results (specifically 35.5ghz), never heard of Ka band I take it... How many X50's have you owned, how many STi's have you owned, and how many V1's have you owned, so that you can accurately make that statement? :roll: :roll:

why RadarTom cause look if you want someting that has lets start with the v1 it has a rear antennas like haveing 2 radardetectors in one unit you have arrows the v1 can track up to 9 ka bogeys the v1 takes a win on laser bye a long shot upgradeable for life. the x50 will u can track 2 k bands,2 ka bands,and 4 x bands puls the x50 can show the signal strenth all at once on each signal which is wonderfull. the v1 cant do. as far as range goes the x50 is real goood on ka band and k band to the x50 in my opion the takes the win for tunel vision which i love and whish that my v1 was good in that area but its not the x50 is better i think something i am wishing that Gol WILL test in the future more.

There both good both have there ups and downs....as far as laser goes...your laser goes off you have been hit...picking up scatter is a long shot.
