    Default X50 spec display

Saw some interesting behavour this weekend with the X50 on spec display. I came within proximity of a known K band sign (about 1/4mi perpendicaular, stopped at a light). At first I got a reading of 24.300 and then it flipped to 24.100. It did this back and forth for a bit and then settled on 24.122. Anybody seen this before? Normally I run in expert mode so this was the first time I came across something like this..

Mine does that too. Sometimes spec mode throws erratic frequencies for a few seconds, then it settles down. Mine often says 24.000 for K band at first. What's interesting is 24.000 and 24.300 are both 50 MHz beyond the edges of the K band.

Spec mode is mainly a geek feature, it's not a precision frequency counter.

I've seen that on an X50 when it was detecting 2 K band frequencies. I figured it out in a shopping center with 2 k band doors on slightly different frequencies. When I put the X50 in expert display it showed 2 signals, when I put the X50 in Sepc display it showed both frequencies with the display alternating between the two.

I never had a real encounter with the spec mode but i tested it on door openers and it was doing the same thing as stealthjamal. But like Kpatz said , it doesnt look like a precision frequency counter

Yes, Stalker. Could be any Stalker Ka gun, DSR, ATR, Dual etc. AFAIK they all operate at/around 34.7.
