Muting on the X50

Today I noticed something on the X50 when I muted it. When I turned into Walmart, the K band started going off (24.138?). I muted it. I went by the door, then turned away from it, going to the Murphy gas station that was nearby. For a moment, I saw that the X50 lost the K band signal(went back to "scanning +" ) Then when I parked beside the pump, I saw the same signal return(24.138?), but the X50 didn't make any noise.

This is not the first time I've noticed this. My dad's V965 did it as well one time when we were at home depot.

So my question is: Do the Belscorts stay muted if they sense it is the same signal, even if they lose track of it for a little bit. Is there some sort of cut off time, at which time it will alert no matter if it is the same signal or not?

I say this because while I was pumping, I took off the X50 from the mount and laid it near my cup holder. When I went to leave, I put it back up, and it started alerting normally. But this time, it was also picking up the Publix from across the street(24.164)

No problem. I think I first discovered this when passing a Walgreens and sighting a LEO with no report til on/off recycle. :roll:
