sr7 underrated?

Why is the escort sr7 so underrated. So many people swear by there escort 8500 x50s and yet the sr7 is completely shunned. Why?

I am contemplating on buying an sr7.

i think its mounted too low... performance of radar is not as good

but it should be better then the X50 right? it is more expensive

Personally, it's the price that drives me away form remote mounts. I can have a V1 for 400 or a similarly-performing remote for nearly a grand. If the price came down to a similar level I would seriously consider switching back because I like the stealthiness. Based on the fact that it's all the same technology, they have absolutely no excuse. They charge such outrageous prices because they market to the porsche, mercedes, and jaguar drivers of the world. That's no way to get my business when I can be relatively stealthy with what I have.

I've looked away from the remotes because of the price, and I also take the detector between vehicles every now and then.

According to two different conversations I had with the SR7 support line, it does not contain any of the updates that the x50 does over the 8500.

I asked if they planned to release an update for it and was told they are focusing mostly on the dash mounted units. If anything they release a new model.

I believe the sr7 to be just as good as the x50, when mounted on a truck or a vehicle that sits high off the ground.
