Where to get replacement speaker for Bel 985?

You might find one from an electronics supplier out on the internet.
You will need to get a measurement on how big the speaker is and what the Ohms is for the speaker.

I have a whislter unit that needs a speaker and the speaker is only maybe and inch in diameter and it is 16 ohms.

I just did a search and found several suppliers that had what I was looking for.

Have you contacted Bel to see if they will sale you one? I doubt they will but it is worth a shot.
You may also buy a cheap bel unit off of ebay and rob the speaker off of it. I know on this older whistler detector the speaker is the same as my new whistler detector.

I just liiked at an 840 that behaved as if its speaker was blown. Turns out there were 2 bad SMD solder joints on the board. Now it talks instead of pfft and tck.

Perhaps this is the same problem you have.
