    Default Countermeasure Suggestions

I've been lurking around this forum and had some general questions about my counter measure options. Wealth of info here so hoping to tap into some good advice. Most of my driving is urban and city Interstate. FL HP and locals PDs seems to like laser enforcement around here. I haven't been targeted or my 8500X50 may not detect the hit. I keep it up high on front windshield.

However about 3-4 times per year I head out for a road trip. I'm dubious that I'd get good warning of an radar instant on activation very far in front of me. I'm not too impressed with the Ka detection range or off angle performance of the 8500X50. I tend to worry more about the road trip and the vulnerability there.

What countermeasures should I consider and in what order?? Money is a concern, so I can't do it all at once. Here are the options I have rationalized for myself...

-Get a CB, keep the 8500X50. Buy a laser "shifter" LI or Blinder

-Scrap the 8500X50 Empty the wallet and get the 9500CI enjoy the enhanced radar range and limited laser shifting from the ZR4. Get a LI or Blinder later.

-Scrap the 8500X50, Get the Bel STi-R. Get a seperate laser shifter (LI or Blinder) later.

-Scrap the 8500X50, Get a V1. Get a seperate laser shifter (LI or Blinder) later.

Other relevant info...car is a black altima....

    Welcome any input on this...

If highway I/O is a threat....

    V1, CB, LJ later

In FL you can shut off the Xband run the V1 in A and have it be relatively quiet.

Sub the V1 for the STI-r if those trips end up in VA regularly

I say keep the detector you have, when on the highway drive smart, use a rabbit. Get a CB for the road trips, and laser jammers for now in your local area. A black Altima will do great with the Blinder if you don't have the $ for an LI.
Valentine One (3.858 Ice Cream Truck, 3.812 in Vette)
4 Head LI (On Vette) (7.11 CPU Regular heads front, HP Heads on the rear)
    9500ci (On Vette)

LI Quad (On Ice Cream Truck)

LI Dual (On SRX, 7.06 CPU)

ProLaser II, ProLaser III, Stalker LZ-1, LTI Marksman & Laser Atlanta "R" (looking for an Ultralyte LRB)

Keep the X50, get the CB, cheap setup for 100 bucks. In this day and age spend the money on jammers. You decide what kind. Then start upgrading the RD and the CB. I started with the X50 and the walmart Cobra. Now I have the X50, the V1 and a Galaxy 919. Jammers are last since laser is just hitting Oklahoma. Always remember all you get are OUR opinions. It is you budget and you ass on the line, not mine. A lot of depends on how and where you drive.
