Newbie in TX would like suggestions on what to purchase

New to forum. Don't have any countermeasures yet. Just got tagged on a trip to Fl last week. I had just downloaded the escort live app and was going to try it out. I left Houston with no issues and some false warnings from known speed trap in Baytown. Before I left the state I was clocked going 82 on a 75. I think his laser might be a little off since according to the speedometer I was at 80. Anyways it's going to cost me approx 200+. Now I am planning on using countermeasures that's why I joined forum. What would be recommended for me. I drive a 2009 F250 with bull bar and fog lights. Also I think laser jammers are illegal in TX. So I would like opinions on which way to go.

What is your budget? Windshield or remote installed radar detector?

You are correct about jammers being illegal in Texas. Many people here use jammers in states where they are banned, but to everyone else they are just parking sensors . Understanding how they work and JTK (jam to kill) works, you can get by.

Ultimately it's up to you, and I don't know how TX handles jammer tickets/citations. Here in CA it's an equipment violation/fixit ticket.

Well to get started would like to keep it at or under 1K. And windshield or remote does not matter. Prefer windshield so I can remove before it gets stolen but first comes performance in the list.

You can look at their websites for detector line ups. They offer GPS units that can let you store speed traps, red lights cameras, as well as automatically lock out false alarms. This can be nice if you live in a city. Normally performance is sacrificed with the bells and whistles that come with those. Valentine 1 is known for its dual antennas, directional arrows, and very good performance (alongside the RedLine & STi). They offer a single detector that can be forever updatable, they say.

Can someone chime in on jammers from Texas? Before I give out my California advice.

Was thinking of purchasing laser interceptor and a detector. Just don't know penalty for getting caught with a jammer in tx.

Vdub what do u do if u get pulled over with the jammer. I believe they are also illegal in CA.
