The other day I went to power up my LI and it did not power up, a few hours later it powered fine and seems fine since?
I am not sure what the deal is, I have it installed for well over a year without an issue with power before.

Check your power and ground connections as well as ensure that the power connector is properly seated into the CPU and check to make sure the spade connectors on the back of the switch are also seated properly.
Let me know what you find.

I have to take the time to look, just freezing out and need to take stuff apart.
Check your connections as Cliff stated. It certainly sounds like there is a connection issue.

Never was a fan of "add-a-circuit" or t-taps. Not saying that is what was used but I'm just saying... Either solder all electrical connections, or strip->spread->insert->squeeze->wrap->tape-> and ziptie the wire. Ground connections should be made in the kickpanel to bare metal. Self tapping screws with a star washer work well. If you follow those methods and end up having a problem with the unit powering up, its either a faulty connection at the fuse, a blown fuse, a faulty connection at the unit, or a faulty unit.

I've had the same thing happen too after about 12 months, one of the spade connectors on the switch was a bit loose.
Negative ground is negative ground. What do you think a fair portion of automotive wire is made of? (Hint - if not copper, it's aluminum.)
