Default Lamin-x or other protective film on top of Veil?

    Hi all,

Got some Veil G4 about 2 weeks ago. I applied it to my Audi A6 and it looked awesome. About a week after driving it was still perfect untill I had to use my windshield washer fluid. The A6 also sprays the headlights. After this the veil was noticably stained and has started to peel. I would use water instead of washer fluid but thats not an option in Canada as the water would freeze pretty quick depending on the weather.

I have read some posts about people wondering if applying a "chip gaurd" clear protective film on a veiled headlight would decrease the performance and was wondering if anyone had tested this out?

Hope it would still work as per normal or else I just flushed 90 bucks down the drain

Or you could disconnect and plug the hoses going to the headlight nozzles. (also unplug the headlight wipers if you have them) That is, unless you have gremlins that live in your headlight casing that like to see where you're going....

Rather than unplug various components in my Audi, I'll just get a Blinder installed. I'll see if anyone I know wants to buy the remaining Veil for their Sunfire. Only 80 bucks. No big loss.

Wait... you were expecting Veil alone to save you?

Good thing this happened to you before you got pwn3d. Veil alone is nada. Even Veil tells you that. It is for use in conjunction with a jammer, to improve it's performance. I gotta say though, I'm glad you posted this because I certainly never thought about washer fluids effect on Veil before. But seeing as it is ammonia based, it totally makes sense.

Hop over to either the Blinder forum or the Laser Jammer forum and post some pics of the front end of your car (or a car identical to yours), and we'll help you determine what level of protection you'll need for it.

Do you have a Audi A6 with glass headlights or the new A6's with the polycarbonate len's? If they are polycarbonate I thought someone said that VEIL has trouble adhering to plastice lens on headlights compared to glass headlights.

    Hi

    Newbie from the UK here

I just received my Veil today, and I have a mazda CX-7 so it also has the headlight washer issue (potentially).

I've ordered some LAMIN-X film for my headlights, so I'll let you know how I get on

    Regards

Before you do that, you should contact Veil Guy and see if he has any recommendations for putting Veil on Lamin-X.

    Good luck.

    Hi
Good point but I'm actually going to put the Veil directly onto the headlight.
Then im going to test to see if the washer fluid impacts the veil.

If not, then no Lamin-X needed for me

If it does make the veil stain etc., then I'll reapply to the headlight, then add the Lamin-x on top of the veil

I'm hoping that the Lamin-X will be transparent to the Laser signal, and that the Veil will still then absorb the Laser as normal

Only problem is how to test it...need to find a local LIDAR trap!!!

    Regards

I am curious about this as well. Has anyone finished this install and tested the product.
