Amateurs! 45 tickets in 5 hours? The moto cops that run the highway near my house issue a ticket every 3 minutes!
These guys need to pick up the pace or PA is going to go broke!

Wow operation crackdown!
What are the speeds your motorcops are citing for though?During this initiative PSP was giving 19 over before citing...anything below that got a written warning.
For regular speed enforcement around here PSP generally gives 12 or 13 over before stopping a person and generally 15 or 16 over before citing. By law, they're required to give 6 over.
I have NEVER seen a cop sit on 222 in Berks county. Surely this article is a joke. Lol
16 over is where they start. But everyone runs at least 15 over there so my guess is they were starting at somewhere between 16 and 20. State law requires they not cite till 11 and then only 40 percent can be below 17 over. Therefore almost all departments in GA start at 16.

Hmm, very interesting. I guess PSP might be slow at ticketing after all.I wouldn't know though, there's an inadequate amount of troopers in the local troop considering we have the second largest metro area in the state. They're rarely ticketing over here, normally they're jumping from collision to collision on the highways.
easy fix to this use lidar! if i was shooting after so many tickets issued they would have me fired the next day.

The majority of the length of a traffic stop is writing the citation. After a while an officer can cut down on the time by memorizing the fields, pre-filling citations, etc. But in the end, the approach takes a minute or two, looking up the info on the computer or radioing it in takes a minute, the final approach takes a minute or two...and writing the citation takes three or four minutes, or six-seven-eight+ if you're not used to writing them.
Some of the PSP cars have computerized citation printers to write the cite on the computer and print it out which after practice cuts down on time a lot. If the state really wants more officers to write more citations they should outfit every department with automated ticketing software and printers. Once you get experience with it you can totally complete and print the ticket in a minute or a minute and a half. Which could turn a 8-9 minute stop into a 3-4 minute stop.
The state isn't really prepared for that on a large-scale basis as of yet in my opinion. Maybe eventually...but that would save a lot more time on stops than radar and LIDAR would.
