i don't live in a area where it is needed but am planning to travel to an area where it is illegal to own and operate a detector...???

alpinestars_2002795 The one thing that has not been said about having a RD that has stealth like the STI in a State that where it is illegal is your reaction to having an alert and hitting your brakes! This is all an LEO would need to pulled you over and search your car for an RD.
Just something to remember when you travel.

Where do you plan on driving where detectors are illegal? The only places I know of in North America that you have to worry about Spectre (if you are a passenger car, not commecial truck) is in the Canadian provinces that ban detectors.
