I noticed this link when I did a search to get this website on another computer. Some of these officers appear to know what they are talking about but it appears that there are two people in that thread that don't have a clue. One went so far to say that Police technology is moving too fast for Radar Detector makers to keep up. I thought that was laughable. I wish I could of been a part of that thread.

Cops radar does have us beat but only if they think radar detectors work that's why most cops don't even bother learning or using proper instant on which if they all did and they used stalker they will always know who is the fastest and only go after serious speeders, i/o is the reason radar feels deadlier than laser at night in the highway you never now if you just got clocked.

Yes, I am very concerned about new "bands" coming out that the V1 can not detect. They are always adding those new bands. It sucks.

I just thought that it would be an interesting conversation piece. Many police officers have the same opinions that were shown in those threads, therefore it is still applicable today. I made this thread to show how naive some police officers are when it comes to radar detectors.

Lastly, I'd have to question why you thought there was any point in replying to a thread that you think shouldn't of been created.

Cobra's got you covered. It detects everything except for 35.5 ka band.

Because we already have multiple threads about how police think our countermeasures don't work. Also, now someone could go on that message board and reply to that topic to bring it back from the dead for no reason.

I recall that the latest federal government study said that speeding alone was responsible for something like only 5 or 6 percent of all road fatalities?

Unfortunately, it seems much higher. This pdf document from NHTSA says "Speeding...to be a contributing factor in approximately one-third of all fatal crashes." although it also says "...it may not have been the causative factor."
(oops, I'm not allowed to post link yet, pls search "Speed Management Strategic Initiative" on nhtsa's website.)
