Plastic chrome

Hey does anyone know if mounting a sti r receiver behind a plastic grill with a chrome finish affect its performance as it would if it was metal chrome? Thanks in advance.

Plastic is better than metal, but it still can have an effect.

I don't own one, but from all I have read in here. Do mount it behind any obstructions it will hurt your range alot.

Even plain plastic without chrome can make a HUGE difference. In fact, a plastic grille seems to kill the signal worse than a solid sheet of plastic, like bumper fascia. It's definitely not something you want to do.
