No problem! This info is not to hurt your feelings nor directed toward you, it is to teach other vistors, don't buy a Cobra! Yourself and other do not know that performance is a must! The public needs to be told the truth for when they buy these under performers, they come to the forum and ask why did I get a ticket with a RD! You are welcomed with open arms and be free to input and say what you wish for all to learn. Like me, I don't take pride in a product, but only try to help others on how not to get a ticket for that is the main purpose. I'm sure in time you will purchase a better unit, keep your head high for your on the right track! Drive safe.....The answer, no, they do not do essentially do the same thing for many cannot grasp that concept! Performance is everything!.....

Freq tells you the maker of the radar or lidar unit! I posted that above on radar units. The train thing is a sensor which has to do with the speed of the train one member reported...

Really? According to EVERY site I come across, the 9970G is completely immune to VG-2. I hear Spectre IV is hard to beat by any model. Not that it matters since I do not plan on visiting VA or DC anytime soon.
I thought I saw it tested some where, so I found it on SML test on the web. Look it up Speed Meaurement Lab or something like that.....

Right, I see that now. Must have went over my head at the time. What are you referring to when you say "black face cans"? So frequency tells you the make of the Radar/Laser, but what's the importance of knowing that? I think the train thing was the safety alert being active. A big 'RR' sign popped up on the screen and it said 'Train Approaching' I just thought it was cool it could tell me something like that.

Yes! That is why detection distance is very important.......Common I/O is around 4-5 seconds like you stated. He will rehit if needed or just leave the unit on......With a slow RD on a 4-5 I/O, your RD may alarm for 1-3 seconds, 2-4 seconds after the initial signal started. One problem is that the Leo sees your high speed for atleast 3-4 seconds before your slowing, thus he is assured that your should get that ticket if he can determine with his eyes that you are the fastest auto (or targeted).....A lot of filtered RDs can miss I/O because the algs of the program thinks that it is a false, this is rare but happens (I will send you a pm on this).....Yes, you were 99% screwed......It was an I/O.....

No 33.8 Ka MPH Guns, might can turn off POP....35.5 is a tight beam, brake quicker for it is harder to pick up.....34.7 DSR2 Stalker can be same lane......Yes, the train signal also could be a safety thing. It might be having to do with something with the wheels and the controls, cannot remember.....

OH! The train signal is a signal reading the wheel speed for the controls to work to make sure that the wheels are not spinning, but getting traction by applying the right amount of power. I think that is right. That is what a member that worked on trains reported one time.....(K band)

I cant believe cobras cost that much! i thought the whole point of a cobra is its dirt cheap lol. You should of got a SE whistler for your first detector. But the point of having a good detector is it can detect a LEO using IO on a car miles and miles ahead of you so you can slow down before your in the crosshair. id agree the average amount of time that a LEO bursts IO is around 5 seconds depending on if he is stationary or moving and depending on traffic. on a side note the trains in my local city actually use laser for when trains are crossing the roads. the pulse per second is always all over the place too. but its way to high to be confused with a LEO. i thought that was interesting.

SLOW? well not actually as it appears Cobra's do fine in the I/o mode.
