beautiful beautiful install. love that impala![]()
Any chance you could post some close-up pics of the LI heads? Did you take any in-progress pics of the head install? I'm fixin to have to go through this exact same process with my new Impala, so any help would be appreciated.
Did you dremel the grille, or what? It looks great!
I'm going to see if there is any way I can recess or flush mount the V1 remote into the upper left corner of that silver trim strip around the radio and A/C controls. I just hope there is enough depth under there to squeeze it in.
I did not take any in progress pics. This head install was a pain in the a$$ to say the least. There is hardly enough room to get your hand in there. I needed to use a flexible shaft for my drill with my wife manning the trigger just to drill and screw the brackets in. You can't work from the underside because it's completely shelled in.
Once the brackets were in, and the heads were mounted, I laid a 4 foot strip of drywall corner bracket across the front end to allow a straight edge to align the heads. I then dremeled the grill. Just butt the grill up to the heads. mark it and dremel away.
I could not find a way through the firewall either. I ran the cables up the drivers side of the engine compartment, through a gap by the hood hinge (piston), which allows access into the drivers side door area. I was then able to run them through the electrical grommet into the parking brake area. I was able to do this with no pinch points. Oh what fun....It paid off though.
That install looks awesome. Great Job!!!
