I reboot my V1 (3.826) after every J alert I get if I am in a hurry somewhere because I have had it J out real threats. I just wish that Valentine research would make so you could turn off the J feature and not turn off any thing else with it.

Brimstone, The Honda was shot at 2000' then you were shot at 300' were there two shots?
Was the second shot a non "J" out?
Good point on that dual mode, I forgot about that.
If it was a fast rapidity to full tone on the V1 then it most likely was a LEO shot, and no time to reboot anyway.
Also I have heard of people rebooting only to get another "J" out immediately after.

Stop bad mouthing the V1 and either dump it or sent it in for repair!
Seems some V1 units have more of an issue with this than others, and several V1 users seem to have never even had a "J" out on a real LEO.
Typically I would blame this on a person that does not drive much, but I know ghz1 drives a lot!
If I had a V1 with "J" problems I would send it to VR with a note as to what is going on and have it tweaked out.
If it came back doing it again I would sent it in again.
If there is truly a problem then something will get done if VR is getting plenty of V1's back every day.
Don't vote with a letter or posting to VR, vote with sending your unit in for repair.

METEORIC, Copy what you just wrote and send your unit in.

Yes there were two shots. 1 at 2000 feet (when I got the Junk reading) and the other at 300 feet. I have only gotten 4 junk alerts since Feb of this year. The others were clearly junk as the source was very evident.

Interesting that the second hit did not junk out, this might be a first as you got a second hit from the same source without a reset yet even though the second hit was a closer, typically causing an overload or definite junk out it did not happen.

Are you using 3.826? I had the "J" bug you mention with my original POP2 3.8xx which V1 updated to 3.818, still had the problem, 3.819, still had it, went to 3.826, haven't seen it..yet..been a few months with multiple LEO encounters which caused the J bug to happen on my other revisions..

If youi're using 3.826, call V1 and tell them what happened, see what they say - if you're using earlier, send it into them with a note explaining the problem, and they will update the firmware and/or check it out - might want to call ahead anyhow..

I think you should cut Airmoore some slack. He's simply reporting his opinion of the V1 as an owner. Personally I think he's much closer to the mark than most with his opinions on the V1.

First the new unit with a scratch inside the cover then one thing is repaired only to mess up something else?
They must have your picture on the back wall.

the truth is the J bug is NOT fixed with version 3.826 which Airmoore has reported, and VR says it is fixed which is NOT true. and its NOT cobras setting the J bug off because I have replicated a real J bug with several runs past an unmanned leo car running Ka band. so v1 dave might be a little off there.

as far as X and K band Air is a little negative about the v1. if you have been around here for long enough he has never been a big fan of the v1 before or after getting a unit. so i think dave is correct about air's pessimism regarding the v1. the one true thing that i do agree with air is that in city area's the falsing from the v1 can get a little annoying and out of hand, im not sure how other RD's would do since i don't own any beside a crapra which i havent used in years.
