Arizona speed cameras?

From what I hear, Arizona is using speed cameras now. Does anybody who lives in AZ care to comment about how V1 can (or cannot) detect these things?

I have a sinking feeling that the cameras will spread. :x

I believe the arizona speed cameras use wires in the roadway to trigger the camera. No radar or laser so the any detector useless.

Not true as far as what ive seen. On the 202 for instance i pick them up long in advance to coming up to them, of course its picking up them from others.

Other places im alerted to them way in advance also...

I think they are used mainly in the Scottsdale, Tempe, Phoenix area.

Some are this type of camera radar roy can describe the area better as i don't live in this area but he said they where on some kind of loop i think and yes they are totally passive and no a detector won't pick them up and yes we are afraid they might spread because the super protector will not protect you against it even .... During the test phase of these new cameras they where only issuing warnings for like a breif period and guys tried out there superprotectors on them and they faild but i beleive some guys had a way to make the super protector work against them so... But it was in the photo radar section not the v1 forum.. RADAR ROY SHOUT OUT TELL THESE BOYS THAT PASSIVE PHOTO RADAR DOES EXIST AS IN VASCAR PHOTO RADAR YES IT DOES EXIST!!

arizona uses piezo electric strips on the 101 for those speed cameras, only knowing where they are will help you.

but what about the speed camera vans they have?

for the mobile speed camera's the V1 will help you out alot.For the fix speed camera's eye's and a brains can help. I think in the Uk there are some company's that use GPS to Id the fix cameras. Maybe roy can look into that.

Vascar-photo-radar? HUH? please explain what you mean. 2 different speed detection systems bundled into one unit? if not, what are you refering to?

Yes they use a vascar photo camera combination as the earlier user stated it is a very new type of photo enforcement basicly it works as such

YOU hit THIS LINE | which is the first sensor then you hit this line | which is the second sensor under the highway the time and distance are then calculated from when you hit the first sensor under the road to the second if you are found to be in violation of speed it then uses a digital camera backed up by a full time video camera to get your license plate number and face picture and then the court mails you your nice little ticket that the super protector will supposedly from other users not save you from... And you had no clue untill you maybe saw the camera you just got ticketed sucks huh?? THere thinking tho ill give them that the 101 in AZ is the only area that i know of that these cameras exist so far but you can problably expect them to spread as they leave you with no warning to slow up and can't be blocked by plate covers..

SO YES THE PREVIOUS FORUM MEMBER WAS RIGHT THIS DOES EXIST!!!
