Thread: e on start up

    Default e on start up

    just bought v1 used last week and noticed everytime u turn it on it immediately showd an e with 1 dot. pushed dial one time to a and everything workes fine. went to nc from fl and back and was picking up leo at 1 1/2 to 2 miles of any help appreciated

    If your V1 is a newer model it could be programmed for "European Mode". If so it will display an "E" momentarily on startup. Check your units programming to see if it is programmed for "European Mode" before sending it in for repair. Here is the link for programming information http://www.valentine1.com/lab/MikesLabRpt3.asp . "European Mode" is of no value in North America.

    It's a power-up self test failure. Send it in and VR will fix it for you.

    If the euro mode is on you will get either a small u or a big U in the bogey counter. and you wont be able to select the A or logic modes.

    I'm not sure what the start up procedure is when euro is on so it may flash the E, but the small dot is indicating that the ku band is active.

    so you may find that the euro mode is switched on, aswell as the ku band.

    check the programing mode to conform euro isnt on..
