Should I sell old V1 and buy new one with 3.891?

I'm currently running 3.863. Is the 3.891 a big jump in performance over mine? My state doesn't have the traffic data BS. So that feature is useless to me. Don't feel like spending almost $200 to upgrade. Might as well sell it at a good price and pick up a new one. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Im right with ya on that one! Makes to much sense not to do it that way. even if you only get 250 for it you are ahead of the game lol. That way we get a Fresh spanking new detector, everything is new

If you’re looking at K band, the dominant band here in my town, IME so far… nope. The 3.892 is exactly hitting the mark as my 3.864 with the stationary K guns used in the school zones. I ran the two V1’s separately and they both got alerts in the exact same place, both forward and rear facing, no traffic and with traffic.

I do have some Stalkers and a few MPH Bee III here in town, but haven’t been over to that side of town lately.

In reading the forum 35.5 may have some performance gains, we’ll see. The VR web site still says my 3.864 has the latest and greatest on radar and laser, absolutely correct for K band IME.

The 3.892 does have the little ESP logo below the volume knob once SAVVY gets going and will help with the SpeedInfo drones if I head north to Chi to visit.

As added background my 3.864 got zapped awhile back and had to go in to the mother ship for repairs. When I called VR they said it basically has all new guts inside. So the 3.864 except for the case is essentially a new 3.864 and it is doing great! The repair by the way was NO CHARGE, thank you Mike (!), evidently since I purchased the V1 from VR… and that is an older V1.
