    Default X50 first impressions

Just got the X50 today, and in typical form, have not been able to find a Leo running radar. I have however, noticed that in the places where my v995 and other rd's would false...I don't pick up the false until I am closer to the source, and the falses don't last as long. Would all of you attribute this to a problem with the detector,...of better filtering??? input appreciated

FILTERING, is what I d say, thats pretty much normal, My X50 does that and all, while my brother's 7500S performs more like that V995 it picks it up fine, but just doesnt have the screening capabilities of the X50.......BTW which mode do you use the X50 on most of the time??????...like Me in Highway ill pick up EVERYTHING farther out than the 7500S but in auto or city (Which I never use, if now H than its A) ill pick up falses later but the real threats are still pretty far out range

the x50 has excellant range on K-band and good filtering. The city, auto, highway modes should not affect K band sensitivity at all, only x band according to owners manual, so i use City NoX

well I have X off, but I do notice a small loss in range on K-band signs in AUTO mode, but 99.999999999999999% of the time im in highway so it really doesnt matter too much

dam thats pretty good........I mainly use it in Highway to get everything, and let ME determine false from threat..I think in Highway the X50 has all filters turned off (I think)

My X50 reads motion sensor doors as K-band, so no matter what mode im in it will still pick them up. I just got it(and my first RD), is it really suposed to do that? I thought motion sensors were X-band...

Many doors do operate on x band, but there are many doors, and alarms and such that do operate on k band...no worries

Alright good deal, just in the city almost every alarm I get is K-band from a door or something. I went testing it tonight and went into a strip mall where there a few motion censored doors. It would detect them as K, getting stronger as I get closer to the door to eventually being full alert. I then went out into the middle of the parking lot(instead of driving along the buildings) and would get bleeps of X-band, but I could track where the source was coming from because once I got closer to the building it would get weaker and the K-band would take over... once again, is this normal?
So even though I would go around looking for x band I couldn’t find any.

more and more doors are operating on K-band nowadays.......your encounter sounds normal to me, you were probably moving away from an X-band source, and moving towards a K-band source the X was probably just another building that was behind you
