Default initial warning at auto-mute volume

Quite often, when getting a K band alert, My X50 will not sound at regular volume at all, but will always be at the auto mute level. This occurs about half the time that I get a K band alert, and I can't say whether it only happens with false alerts or not--I've never seen a LEO when I notice it, but that doesn't mean there wasn't one around of course. Is this normal?

Nah, It definitely does initial alerts on auto mute. I'm not not hearing the full volume. So is this typical?

My automute seems to be working fine... I only used it for a little bit the day i got my detector, and then turned the automute off. I tended to ignore it once it got quiet so i decided to just leave automute off so i would stay alert the whole time it went off.

Try turning the automute off and see if it alerts at full volume. If not then you may have to send it in.

I'm going to turn off auto mute I guess.

2 Questions though: If I get an alert at full volume and hit the mute button, does it totally silence it, or go to the "quiet" sound level.

Also, if I'm tracking multiple bogeys, get an alert and mute it--and then get a 2nd different alert, does it alert at the high volume?

When you mute it while an alert it would be silent until that alert disapears, also it just happened once with K band that I got a K band false hit the mute buttom got another K band and when the first one dissapear it kept being silent the whole time until the second one disapear. Maybe they had the same frequency.

    My suggestions:

Turn auto-mute off, try it for a bit like that... then turn it back on (see if it magically works... who knows), and if it still has this problem youmay find you don't need automute or...

Reset the unit... if this doesnt work and the issue still bothers you...

    Send it back/get it replaced.

-I have to ask: Your volume is turned up all the way correct? (on the dial on the left)
