    Default 9500ix Auto Volume

I like this concept, but would like to know more how it works so I can set to best.

Does anyone know the range of db's the 9500xi outputs, and how much the volume (in db's) could vary using Auto Volume?

I exchanged an email with Escort, but they weren't real specific, I may try again.

All they really mentioned was whatever volume I set it at initially was basically a base, Auto Volume would increase the volume from there, but would not decrease it. And therefore if you had the volume maxed out, you'd notice no change in volume do to ambient noise.

    that basically correct.

The best is when its set at 40% of max to really hear a change. Plus the car has to be really quiet for Auto volume to work.

Don't know the db range, but I do know it works.

I have my RD mounted to right of rear view mirror. Whenever the RD goes off with the sunroof open it's REALLY loud! You definitely will not miss the alert.

This feature can be turned on/off by the user, but the volume increase cannot be adjusted (at least not in the current software version).

I don't like AutoVolume at all, but my cars are loud. I just leave it on Max Volume all the time.

I have the Escort amplified speaker and it rocks! Got mine free from a friend that installs the Jammers, he always has extras from installs that don't need them.
