No wonder they went out of business, they had terrible customer service as well..
I was without a tv for 6 months when my big screen went out 3 months after I bought it and I had nothing but problems with them to get them fix it.
Totaly wasted 500 dollars in a 4 year extended warranty.
A few years ago a buddy of mine bought a laptop at CC. The salesman talked him into their extended warranty. Well, he sent it in for repair and it came back bent in the middle. CC said, sorry, but you will have to take that up with our extended warranty contractor. The warranty contractor, of course, refused to repair the laptop. There was @2000 down the drain. My buddy never shopped at CC ever again.

Knowledge is power; My knowledge mitigates Their power. The point really IS situational awareness. Without it, we wonder.

Long time Escort user here as well.... Have tried several of the lower cost units but always found myself gravitating back to Escort. Someday I'm sure I'll give V1 a try but for now I'm happy.

I answered in the other thread but hey I need a couple more so I can see the links . 8500 x50 will be here tomorrow. Replacing old busted down passport 4500. Now the poll question I voted over $280 because it's $309 BUT my trade in takes $80 bucks off. Should I change the vote to less than $280 .

Reviews here, GOL, RR.net, and conversations with Escort rep about performance/features etc. got me to buy that instead of a 9500ix. For RLC's in future I'll probably get a Cheetah mirror but first a LI dual is in the plan.

I have an Escort SRX in my model year 2000 car. I just recently bought an detector for my model year 2007 car. I came real close to going with a V1, LI + GPS solution combo. In the end, I went with the Passport 9500ci. I've only got about 700 miles on it now, just enought to have learned it. No big saves yet, but I love the features, performance and quietness of the detector.

BTW - Thank you to the many members here for posting so much valuable information about these many products. I am a very active member of another forum where I reviewed my 9500ci. www.RadarDetector.net helped me gain expert knowledge so I can could speak accurately and with great technical depth.

I agree abour CC. I was off the day they announced they were going out of business. People thought 10% off was the greatest thing in the world. I thought for sure people would hold out a week or two but no. By the end of the weekend. The GX65 and the RX65 were sold out. I went to three different CC in the area and none of them had any detectors left. Then the last weekend in February I went outside the city so to speak and they had four V995. I was not expected to see any at all. Dumb luck I guess.

I voted for both of the "None" options.
No idea what I'm going to be picking up. Speed-trap evasion is not my top priority for now, so I think I'll end up with a midrange Whistler (XTR-695, maybe pro-78). I really want a V1 though.

That Cobra ESD7000 kicks butt in the false alert category. I find it hard to make mine alert to anything.
