Default Installation Question--re: firewall and wiring mechanics

Sorry for the new post (I asked something quasi similar but not directly related earlier)--Wanted to see if anyone has installed a Blinder via hardwired and had some tips, pics, videos--anything. Setting up the normal stuff is easy enough but I have never had to drill something through the firewall. I'm up for it and will do it right but just want to get some "been there done that" tips from some folks.

    Ayudame por favor?

    Abe

usually, there are rubber grommets that you can make slits in to pass cables, wires, etc.

Coolio, I'll take a look. I have Friday off so I should have plenty of time to fart around.

    ^ roadwarrior24's got it head-on.

Abe, try looking towards the Forums/d-boards that are specific to your particular vehicle and its model year(s). These usually will provide you with the information you require in terms of both the grommets in-use as well as the grommets that are already present, but are not utilized with factory wiring.

    Best of luck!

but be sure to allow plenty of room around the steering wheel, brake pedal and gas pedal :!:

What car are you installing it on? That may help.

In the past I have used throttle cable grommet, Wire harness grommet, empty plugs and I have made my own on several occasions.

If you drill be very careful on place.

    Good luck

Thanks for the advice guys! I haven't done this type of thing before but you have to learn sometime.

My car is a 2000 Acura Integra. For reference, the battery (if you're sitting in the car) is on the far right against the firewall.

^ Definitely look on-line for your vehicle's own enthusiast communities. That's a very popular Import Tuner vehicle, and you should find excellent support.

While you're searching on-line - especially if you're posting to such boards and waiting for answers, you can try to back-trace the main wiring bundles leading from your battery. Unfortunately, while this will show you were pre-existing grommets are, it typically will not show you where the pre-existing, but un-used grommets are located.
