    Default A backup RD?????

Well I just got my V1 I am sooooo happy with its performance and I can't live without the thing! I am getting it hardwired, as soon as my friend comes back from his trip FYI let him borrow it, and I also am going to have the it hidden with visor accessory just like that one thread on V1 section where the person hides VERY WELL I am going to do the same thing and use my concealed display. My question is if I ever get pulled over in VA with my V1 I k ow they take your RD and write down the serial number, which I don't understand why, I was wondering can I have a second crappy RD and hand that over to the nice police officer instead of my V1??? When I mean crappy RD I mean something no more than $50. If anyone is selling a crappy RD for some lower than that I will take it, I didn't want to buy one off Roy's site because I know that he doesn't sell crappy RDs.

They don't take the RD, why bother?

Not to mention they will see two sets of suction cups and ask where the other one is anyways, since the V1's suction cups/mounts are very unique.

    I wouldn't waste your money.

What I would do is buy a high quality back-up like the V995 so that if you need to send in the V1, or test out its performance (compare if you think its falling out of tune)... well you have something to accomplish the aforementioned.

I don't have my V1 mounted with the suctions rather with the visor clip, its a lot easier to hide it in my car with it on the visor. I guess I wouldn't want to waste my money on a cheap RD I should get a high end one Im thinking STi

Yeah, this would be your best bet IMO.
