I'm sure you will like the 9500i. I own one and so far so good. I can't really compare it to the v1 cuz I never tried one. Maybe one of these days. But I have read many things about both 9500i and v1 from the users here on this board. I had to weigh out the pros and cons, then decided based on my situation that the 9500i would be better.

Best to you with ur new detector!

Both are good detectors. Personally if I didn't drive on the highway that much I would go with the 9500i. Since I have a LI my main concern is I/O so I want all the range I can get on the highway when I'm moving. Especially since when I travel well I travel...

I'm very happy with my 9500i, but wait for the 9500ix if you're going to switch.

You get the Trinity speed/red-light camera database, auto-learn (and auto-unlearn) feature for GPS truelock, and usb-port update and setting capabilities that us 9500i users have been longing for. It has a faster processor 32 vs. 16 bit for the new features and other tweaks I'm guessing. There's a few threads in the escort section. Also check out the escortradar website.

I'm going to have to fork over $129.95 to upgrade mine to a ix.
