LOL... I run 15-20 over the PSL all the time worry free from Whistler. Ticket free for 3 yearsIn Bob's review he said in the real world the Whistler 78 REV C was 1-2 seconds behind the STI in Ka band. I know that i have to worry about 35.5 just like everyone else. I will admit X and K lack performance compared to the big dogs
1-2 seconds behind the STI in Ka band might not sound like much but that's all it takes to miss an instant on shot that dissipates on hills and around corners that would have been your notice hitting your rabbit in front of you.
Heads up is gone at that point.
A lot of feet are covered in 1-2 seconds.
So, according to you, the Pro78 is weak on X, K and 35.5Ka. According to that test we ran at GOL, which was against 34.7Ka and was also performed on a Rev C, the Pro78 is weak against 34.7Ka and super weak against K band. That doesn't leave much left.
I'm sure Bob's review is honest and accurate, but in the real world, alerts are mostly terrain limited, as opposed to sensitivity limited. The game is changing with the release of the Stalker II. It will be very much like trying to detect that radar gun pointed up and away from the RD. Good luck if you run up against this gun, as only a trigger happy LEO or raw sensitivity will save you.
The Whistler lacks compared to the big dogs on every band in terms of sensitivity, which is why it's a budget friendly RD. I'm not saying it sucks, I'm saying that it does not belong in the same catergory as the big boys, that's all. You seem to want to put it up there with them, but it just doesn't go there.
I don't worry about 35.5Ka at all. I worry about that Stalker II. The last 5 RDs that I have owned(SRX, 9500i, V1, 9500ix and 9500ci) have all performed very well against 35.5Ka. No encounter has been even remotely close, with the exception of those against my improperly mounted 9500ci. Even those weren't really close, because I was driving much more carefully knowing that something was just not right.
As far as you comment about your Whistler RDs working great for you for 3 years running, I'm sure that's true, but that doesn't put the Whistler in the big dog catergory. Lots of sub-par RD(Cobra, RMR, EW, whatever) owners out there that have never used anything else think their RD works great also, because they don't have anything to compare their RD to.

Anyone calling the Arrows gay does not deserve to own a V1.
I'm not following this whole Stalker II low powered radar thing. According to Applied Concepts, the output is the same on all of the Stalker radar units. (Ka band). 10 mw minimum, 25 mw nominal and 50 mw maximum.
