V1 did not work or ??

I was on cruise control coming through columbia city Indiana on hwy 30 . Speed limit is 60 , I had my cruise control on 70 . I see a sheriff police car coming in the opposit direction ,i look up at the V1 and nothing alerting ,the sheriff goes past and a second later a little car passes me going about 75 or 80 and I look in my rearviwe mirror and I see a police car with the lights on and he passes me and is pulling the little yellow car over and as i am passing him he is on his PA telling me to pull over also.

Bottomline , he said he got the yellow car at 106 aqnd he said he got me at 101 . I checked my GPS unit and it said my fastest speed on this trip was 71.4 mph. I cannot understand why the V1 did not go off.

This is the same town that a buddy of mine was driving through and he got a ticket for 81 in a 60 and he was running a Escort 8500 X50 and it never went off .

What do you guy's think. Oh by the way , the police officer asked me how fast i thought I was going and I said no more than 74 tops and that is what he wrote me up for.

sounds like bs to me...if he lasered u then ur v1 would have deg gon off and the whole opposite direction thing just doesnt make sense

Unclear- did the sheriff pull a uturn? Assume that the same sherriff you saw in the opposite direction is the one that pulled the two of you over? Thats some hell of an acceleration to pull a u and catch a car 100mph plus.

This is another reason why I hate cops. This guy knew that you were nowhere near 100mph, but figured you were at least a little over the PSL. So he accused you of doing some ridiculous speed, in order to trick you into admitting to the real speed you were doing. If you lie to a LEO, they get all pissy, but it's absolutely OK for them to lie to you.

Of course not, but from what I've seen, a very high percentage are. A lot higher than the general population.

Sorry to tell you he lied. Like DJ said never admit to anything. I typically I saw when I last looked at my speedometer I say 55, if I am in say a 55.

Everytime late at night a cop says how much did you have to drink.............I saw none. Let them prove otherwise. It is not against the law to lie to a cop, even if they say they will take you in for lying blah blah. You can not lie when sworn in at court though, but just say "I do not recall".

If the Valentine 1 didn't go off, either he's not using radar or your V1 isn't programmed right. Do you have any bands disabled? is your POP disabled?

Pay attention to cruises when they approach, look for the circular radar antennas on the A pillar and on the rear deck in the back.

What does it say on the ticket? I know in CT they put down, laser,radar, pacing etc. And yes you can lie to the cop but always say you were going 65 in 65 or 55 in 55 anything else they will try to get you on. I always go to court & fight the ticket cause they usually drop the charge, reduce the fine, or less points on your license.
