Instant on question?

If you get blasted with Instant on does the pro 78 have to bar up to 9signal? Or can u get busted with just a Ka2 or 3 weak signal from Instant on?

Depends on the circumstance. Apparently modern radar guns can lock at around 1500 feet, and at that range with, say, a ka band encounter you might only get half strenth or a bit less, but he'd still have your strength.


Then again, most instant-ons I've seen were blasted at pretty point blank range, as in I could already see the officer before my whistler went off PULSE.

depends, if he hits some one and you catch it you will get enough time, i usually get full blast on i/o from 690 even when i am not targeted.

Yeah, with the XTR-690 on K and Ka, if you were within lockable range you'd almost certainly get a PULSE alert unless another car was in the way of the signal (good news for you! )

I have had it where a Cop IO's someone up the road and I get a 3 or 4 it happened tonight I was doing 80 slowed to 65 (PSL was 55 which was BS) after the alert and then look over and see a crown vic sitting in the dark and I am getting nothing which makes me think he was just IO'ing people scared me to death because I was the only one in the HOV lane so I was a dead duck. THats why I hate speeding at night because you cant see any cops as a result IO is so effective.
