The "subject to change without notice" is only valid with new purchases not used or resold.

I’m sure Escort thought that offering all the new features if the xi as an upgrade would make us very happy and solve some issues we have complained about. It apparently backfired for some people.
They could of just as easily said hers a crappie down load you can do your self and upload other peoples wrong marked locations and update your 9500I plus make us pay $50 for the CD and USB cable.

Thestation is right, if we are going to b!^@h about an added optional benefit sell your old 9500I on eBay and buy a xi.

Ouch, I must say, Escort really took a shot to 9500i buyers right there. Personally If I owned a 9500i I would be rather upset. I have to agree with most that this a rather bit hit to 9500i owners... especially with how Escort presented the 9500i.

Personally I may wait for some testing to be done, and then consider getting money towards a 9500ix... and maybe integrate that with a ZR4 and supplement that with a P.A.S.S. unit after testing of all 3 products. (Hopefully the ZR4 and P.A.S.S. unit, because the ix should have predictable sensitivity -GOL: cough-.)

To both of you: Who in their right mind is going to buy a discontinued USED 9500i for $400 when the 9500ix is now available for $99 more brand new with a warranty?

The same people who regularly buy a used V1 for over $400. I've had a few V1's sell for over $430.00.

At this point I feel your opinion is well noted, and we get the point.

You would be amazed. People are willing to do anything to save a buck, its all perceived value.

I don't think the 9500i will garner (used) $400-425 on ebay after the 9500ix becomes more widely known and tested. Id say (depending on the screen) $325-$350.

The 9500i is the "new" 'Core' XBOX 360... when their whole pricing issue was being figured out... Its very similar here.

Though I normally agree with your posts thestanton, your (I think conveniently because you know this) missing the fact there is a HUGE DIFFERENCE, the V1 is not sold at all anywhere overseas, and authorized from only 1 spot: VR, Unlike Belscorts products.

(Granted Belscorts new detectors aren't targeting overseas users as much right now it seems), there is still that point to consider. (Which is the sole reason why the V1 resells at the point its bought at.)

If someone outside the US wants a Belscort... they simply go to the store, or order it... with the V1 its not that easy.

Though I agree there are suckers born everyday, I dont think the 9500i will continually sustain a 400-425 netting on ebay.

X2 belscorts will never hold their resale value as long as they are sold all over

Have to say, I'm a little peeved over this.. Yup, the XI is great and I don't have a problem with it or it's release, but as an "I" owner, what I do have a problem with the Escort's blatantly false advertising.

Instead of just complaining about it here, it should be a pretty easy win for consumer protection groups to pursue. I'll give Escort a bit of a chance to see how they play this out (I am guessing they haven't completely thought it out yet, and thus far I HAVE had good a customer experience from them, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt) before I start down that road.. Being in Canada with them being a US based company makes it a bit more challenging, but alas, not impossible.
