Fast forward to a recent encounter, I got hit with instant on by cop behind me when I was doing ~15+ PSL. I instintively used the ebrake to slow down and the was staring into my car as he drove by. Had my brake lights lit, I have no doubt he would have pulled me over.
When you a RD ticket, did the leo take your radar detector and gave you a ticket?
Do they really take RD from you in VA?

He just wrote down the serial # and gave it back to me. They can take it as evidence, but it is returned to you after court.

Unless your an a$$hole, most will not bother to take it since its more paperwork for them.
